Common Wood Pigeon (Columba palumbus)

Date: 22 May 2007

Location: Paris (Paris, Île-de-France, France)

Notes:

Pinkish breast, white patch on side of neck, yellow-and-red bill with white base. Noticeably larger and heavier than Rock Pigeons. Long tails and habit of flapping and gliding in flight made them look almost raptor-like. (picture at Notre Dame)
