Red-crowned Parakeet (Cyanoramphus saisseti)

I noticed a vaguely bird-like projection from a snag and casually lifted binocs to see this parakeet. Backlit, but all all green with small red patch on forehead. Face (area around bill) green. Bill dark, not red or orange. Looked small-headed. After a couple of moments, it dropped silently into the trees, where I could no longer see it.
