New Caledonian Cuckooshrike (Coracina analis)

Date: 31 May 2008

Location: Parc Provincial de la Rivière Bleue (humid forest) (Southern Province, New Caledonia)

Notes:

Loud, piercing whistles heard frequently, but the birds are difficult to observe. Saw one bird briefly in a tree and another bird as it moved through the mid-level of the forest, often staying partly obscured. All slaty gray, dark eye, stout, blunt bill. Light brownish undertail coverts.
