Black-winged Kite (Elanus caeruleus)

Location: Ukarumpa (Kainantu, Eastern Highlands, Papua New Guinea)
Notes:
large, black patches on upperwing; white tail with tapering gray line in center of upperside; grayish mantle; deep, steady wingbeats and glide on V; hunted from perch in tree; dropped on V-shaped wings with down-stretched tail and legs (which were yellow)
