When I was on New Ireland in PNG, I asked some Sursurunga speakers about local bird names. They used the name "kapikpik" (actually kápikpik in the Sursurunga orthography -- á representing the schwa) for several small, colorful nectivorous and insectivorous species including Black Sunbird, Olive-backed Sunbird, Red Myzomela, and Red-banded Flowerpecker.
