I was wondering if there is a way to put in bird names that we understand when one of them comes up as an alternate suggestion and reverts to the international name.American Pipit becomes Buff-Bellied Pipit, etc. I would like to retain American Pipit because it means something to me. Thanks for the help and congratulations on a wonderful site.

There isn't a way to do that right now, primarily because the list will continue changing, and attempting to map personal preferences to a moving target like the master list would be immensely complex both for the administrators and for the users.
It is frustrating though, using an international list that lists only one species of "white-cheeked rosella" when there are actually three.
Then I forget to put a note in to remind me which one is meant in my observation, as two of the species overlap......
