There is some controversy over whether or not Ringed Turtle Dove is a valid species, or whether it should be considered a domesticated form of the African Collared Dove. (See mention of this topic on an SACC proposal.)
Apparently (given its absence from the list) IOC does not recognize the species.
The common collared doves in Texas, of course, are Eurasian Collared Doves.
