Is there a way to add an observation of a bird when you don't know the exact species. For instance, I recently saw a big white egret--but I don't know if it was a cattle, great, or little. Is there a way to record that kind of observation?

At the moment, no, there isn't.
But if you saw it near the area where you live, I can tell you that Great Egret is the only species that occurs between about November and March.

I like that plan--have a resident expert to ask all questions to. :-)
